ABOUT DEATH, DYING, AND GRIEF
"Grief is the price we pay for love." Queen Elizabeth II

Right now we are not a society that talks openly and freely about death, dying, and grief. All too often we can find ourselves avoiding having important conversations with loved ones for the fear of offending, distressing, or upsetting them. This means that many people do not receive the right emotional support when facing death, which can then impact on how an individual grieves after the loss of a loved one.

Grief is a completely natural way to respond to the death of someone important to you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve and it feels different for everyone. Each time that we grieve during our lifetime will feel different too.

I have been privileged to provide therapy to people who are facing death, dying, and grief for the past six years. I have worked with children, young people, adults, couples, and groups. All of whom have their own personal experiences when facing some of the most emotionally challenging and difficult times of their lives.

What I have learnt is that death, dying, and grief is unique to an individual and that no two people ever encounter the same journey.

It is my responsibility to support you on this journey.

I can be someone alongside you when you are facing death, dying, and grief. You and I can create a space for conversations, questions, and reflections that you might not be able to voice elsewhere. I understand the challenges of exploring painful and uncertain thoughts and emotions, and can offer you a therapeutic space in which to voice them. I can be someone to travel with you at a time that can feel isolating and confusing.
You do not have to be alone.
